how techteam projects work

1. We find the right clients

We look for underfunded nonprofit organizations making meaningful community impact that can benefit from technology to improve their productivity.

Our client relations team makes the first contact to our potential clients and respond to project requests we receive in our inbox. They go over partnership expectations with the client and explain the support and limitations TechTeam can provide as a student organization.

Once our client relations and clients establish a clear understanding of what TechTeam can build for them, we can begin forming the team to do so.

2. We build the team & make plans

Student leaders in the University of Chicago have been screened for the role of a project leader. They are matched with the projects we have planned for the quarter. Project applications are released for students to sign up for the project they are interested to work on.

The TechTeam board give advice on a proper tech stack and software tools for the project leaders to further develop the project scope, including code to past completed projects. We give our teams access to design and development tools like Sketch and Google Cloud to create quality products.

3. We build out the project

Essential to the success of our develop is maintaining communication about our progress with the client. In order to make sure we are building something useful for the nonprofit organization, we have a portfolio management team to check-in on our teams. Similarly, we expect communication with our client to answer clarifying questions about the project as they arise.
